As my car pulls up to the corner, a block from the crossing guard, with my 3 children and school paraphernalia spilling from the car, I yell “Always Be.....” and before the inevitable slam of three car doors they yell back “....Nice!”, and off to school.

I thought it important for my children to understand at an early age that you cannot control what any one person says or does but you can control what you say or do. That no matter what, you can “always be nice”.
Regardless of how you are treated you always have a choice to do the right thing and, if given the chance, be the better person.
No one leaves this life unscathed. Everyone carries a different cross but we can, despite our many beliefs and differences......always be nice.
